• NEVER let one actor DIRECT ANOTHER ACTOR – or COMMENT ON THEIR PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!!  Ever!  Not even for a moment.   This is essential.  You are there to PROTECT both actors, to create a SAFE place – and if one actor feels like another actor is directing or criticizing them – that is not safe!  You can handle it however you want – and the “Asian Pasta” (until you give me a better name) group saw me handle it.  It is important that you handle it IMMEDIATELY – and I suggest doing it TACTFULLY in front of the other actor – so that the other actor knows you are TAKING CARE of them.  Did you guys see how the actress playing Catherine was distressed by the other actresses verbally agreeing with my notes about her – and when I stopped immediately and said, “Ok, this is my thing because I was an actor and it’s a bit of a cardinal rule, but the only people commenting on anyone's performance or role – will be the actor playing it and me.  It’s just my thing” - the actress playing Catherine smiled & relaxed – and then TRUSTED me.   The actress I was correcting – actually RESPECTED me for that.  Don’t be afraid to set the terms.  It’s part of being a Leader.
